Farm Show Season - Kickoff!

Worthington Ag Parts -Tractor Parts, Combine Parts, Implement Parts providers to customers all over the world for 43 Years!  PARTS - Expect More from us!

P1000017_2Farmfest, the farm show hosted by Cygnus Farm Shows, was held last week August 7th through August 9th near Redwood Falls, MN!  It marks the beginning of a busy farm show season - six shows in a little over two months.  It's a chance to view our wide range of after-market new, quality used and re-manufactured products.  At every farm show we offer 10% off our retail price and free shipping!  You can view our entire farm show schedule by clicking here!  Select a farm show close to you, stop in and visit us and take advantage of our discount offer!

P1000021_2 The orders are processed electronically at the show and your product might be at your door before you get home!!  You can also get a demonstration of how you can look parts up on our real time on-line catalog!  The photo to the right shows an order being processed by Randy Balster at Farmfest!  Attendance was good the first day but trailed off the following two days compared to prior years.  Having said this our valued customers made it a better sales show for us versus the prior year!  THANK YOU!  We also distributed hundreds of copies of our 2007 printed catalogs which contain over 25,000 new and re-manufactured products!

P1000019_2 P1000018_3 It's three days of getting the chance to visit with our valued customers in the surrounding area and introduce ourselves to potential new customers!  We also display some of our new products that we add to our product line every year.  Annually we add thousands of new after-market and re-manufactured products to compliment our used parts all in an effort to save you money on your parts needs!  We also send a weekly newsletter via email to notify registered customers of the product we have added and photos of our fresh used equipment for salvage we have added in the last week as well.  You can register for our newsletter by clicking here!

P1000012This first photo is of Matt Helmers and Dan Poss two of our Worthington store employees demonstrating our on-line catalog and researching parts for the customer day one of Farmfest. They are two of our experienced parts salesmen, doing what they do best, providing our customers solutions to their parts problems!  If they are not helping customers you might find Matt buying salvage for our used inventory or Dan trucking in that fresh salvage.  You can email them personally by clicking on their names!

Larry_in_action

Here is Larry Frodermann one of our Director's of Operations discussing parts with potential customers!  Recently, Larry has spent hours adding related parts information all from memory to our on-line catalog and selling system to make your parts selection process much easier!  Thanks Larry and you can contact Larry by email by clicking on his name!

The team is what makes the farm shows such a success for us, from display preparation, trailer packing, setup, show workers, order processors at the show and back at the stores to tear down!  Thanks to everyone involved, especially our show manager Randy Mittlestadt and our former show manager Carl Vande Weerd.  Hopefully we see you at a farm show coming up soon!

Recently, I read two interesting facts in the August 6th, 2007 issue of Time Magazine that I found interesting.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture paid a subsidy to a single soybean and corn farm in Illinois from 1999 to 2005 of $400,000 to an owner who died in 1995!  During that same time period the federal farm subsidies paid $1.1 billion to the estates of deceased farmers.  You would think in today's information age the government could avoid this type of error and get the money into the producers that deserve it!

That's all for today!  Stay tuned for a couple product announcements tomorrow and a "catch up" of all the birthday's and anniversaries I missed the last six weeks!

Cheers,

Mike Winter

Australia Visit - Neil's Parts

Worthington Ag Parts -Tractor Parts, Combine Parts, Implement Parts providers to customers all over the world for 43 Years!  PARTS - Expect More from us!

Img_1502In July I spent three weeks in Australia!  Two weeks of vacation and one week of work at the corporate headquarters.  We moved the corporate headquarters in July from Dubbo, New South Wales to Toowoomba, Queensland.  We had three days of managers meetings in the new office in Toowoomba.  The management team is shown in the photo from left to right is: Marney Strachan - Manager Gawler, Robert "Bobby" Dean - Marketing/Graphic Design/Web Design/Database Admin, Peter Gillett - Manager Dubbo, Jason Atkins - Director of Operations, Les Crump - General Manager, Ron Bedford - Manager Corowa, Tim Allan - Manager Toowoomba and Mike Newbury - CFO/Controller!

Img_1501 It was a very good meeting.  There is a very strategic list of actions items that originated from this meeting, with the overall vision to move Neil's Parts to another level in Australia.  Stay tuned for the new logo, 2008 printed catalog, uniform enhancement, invigorated discount program and many more exciting  initiatives!  The guys have so many that it might be the last time they invite me to their manager's meeting!

Img_1580_2 On a side note, we attended a touch "footy" game one night in a small town out of Toowoomba.   Neil's Parts sponsors a team for this touch version of rugby league.  Four employees from Neil's of Toowoomba play.  I'll remind you that it's Winter in Australia and yet Jason actually wore the shorts shown in the picture to the game?  Worse yet Tim Allan didn't even show up to play because it was too cold (but he said he was crook although he was at work all day!)  He is now known as Tim (The Poof) Allan!  Rumor has it the week before Jason had a break away for a Try (equivalent of a touch down in the U.S.) and instead of crossing the goal line he stopped and put the ball down at the five meter line, better luck next time Jason!  You should have passed it back to your lovely wife Yvette, she knows where the correct line is!

Img_1584 Here is a photo of my family freezing at the game!

That's all for now, more tomorrow on the Farmfest show in Redwood Falls, including pictures!

Cheers,

Mike

P.S. It's good to be back!
