It's hard to believe it's August already. The farm show season begins with a full head of steam this week and that always makes the month of August fly by! It seems we wake up one morning and my kids are getting ready for school. I hope to slow it down and enjoy this last month of summer at the farm shows and with the family!
This week is Farm Fest in Redwood Falls, MN as usual we will be displaying our products in booth 418. In addition we will be displaying a twelve row folding Capellocorn head. Stop by and check it out! It's a great time to prepare your combine for harvest by taking advantage of our 10% off and free freight offered at the show on replacement parts. I will be twittering (@mtwinter) live from the show, doing a few live radio interviews and recording some flip videos at the show!
CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have to tell you about a great customer service experience I had last week. Too often we complain about bad customer service and we take good customers service for granted. I was at my desk around 3 PM when I got the dreaded call from my seventeen year old daughter - "Dad I got a flat tire on the car!!" After I got her to calm down she explained that a warning light came on, she pulled over immediately into a parking lot and shortly thereafter it was completely flat. Fortunately this happened only a mile from the office, so I ran jumped in the car and headed over. Sure enough the tire had a large hung of steel embedded in it. As I removed the tire from the Acura I was thinking just where should I take the tire to? I had just purchased four new tires from Buerkle Acura in September for the vehicle so I thought well let's give them a call and see if they can fix the tire quick for me. I had my office manager (Karen :)) call the dealership and they said bring it right over. I loaded up the tire and both my daughters and headed to the dealership, we left the Acura in the parking lot on the spare donut.
Upon arriving at the dealership the gentlemen at the service desk checked me in and said they would take a look at the tire if it's damaged beyond repair we will replace it for free. I'm sure he was stunned by the look on my face when I said "Replace it for free, we ran over this piece of steel why would you replace it for free?" He stated part of the package when you buy replacement tires from us. He said let us take a look and we'll call you yet tonight we are open until seven PM. I thought that's nice I was thinking they closed at five. We headed home which is about twenty minutes from the dealership by the time I sat down he was on the phone saying tires shot we have your new one ready to go and bring in the car and we'll put it on. That's exactly what they did once we drove the car over there. They replaced the tire, put the spare back up, tucked away all the gadgets I had dug out to remove the tire and washed it all for $27. The minimal charge was for the labor to install the tire. The dealership is Buerkle Acura in Brooklyn Parts since we purchased this car five years ago they have been excellent.
